When you have settled into our Camper Park, look up. You will realise that you are standing under fifty magnificent Populus Alba trees. It simply means that you have stood in a poplar grove. All it takes is a slight breeze for the small, light leaves of this plant to move all together like a dance. They show their light side alternating with their darker side. And all it takes is a little breeze for them to produce a rustle similar to the buzzing of the crowd. Hence, says the legend, the word ‘poplar’. The ancient Romans, in fact, called this tree ‘Arbor Populi’ (People’s Tree): it is the Populus Alba.

The white poplar is well adapted to the coastal environment and is among the tree species with the highest CO2 absorption rate. In fact, trees also perform important ecological functions within an urban environment, and indeed, in the current climate emergency, they play a key role. Trees in the city protect against heat, wind, absorb fine dust and various pollutants, restore oxygen and promote biodiversity, are beautiful and refresh the soul.

In our Camper Park, most pitches benefit from the shade of these poplars. And we take good care of them: we monitor and prune them to ensure greater safety for guests; some were cut down because they had become diseased and dangerous: in their place, as you can see, there are already young, vigorous plants.
